With The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard magazine reporting Kitzbühel, St Anton & Mayrhofen as being some of the best ski resorts in Austria, we thought we would have a look at some of the reasons why? Other than the slopes the first thing that came to mind was Après! Just because you've got kids in tow for the holiday doesn't mean you cant enjoy some of the best nightlife Austria has to offer, especially as it kicks off early afternoon....ensure you book some childcare early so you're not disappointed!

If you're looking for sophistication & a chance to dress to impress then head to club take five. Its probably one of the swankiest places to drink in Kitzbuhel - and the prices reflect it - but you can be sure of a luxurious experience with the 3 available bars & attentive staff. Its a member of the worlds finest clubs so we don't think you're going to go far wrong!
If you're looking for a more 'dancing on the tables' type atmosphere then head to The Londoner for Austrian Après in a British pub. Its famed as a hangout spot for world famous skiers after the legendary Hahnenkamm on the 3rd weekend in January. Be warned - it gets rowdy!
Located at the bottom of the Hahnenkamm, but next to the nursery slopes the Streifalm is perfect for everyone to access - including those on foot. It offers delicious
food throughout the day but from mid afternoon onwards offers some typical Austrian après including bands & live entertainment. Its has an outdoor bar and terrace - perfect for those bluebird days. A perfect place to unwind after a hard day on the slopes before taking the fun into the town centre.
The Irish are as much famed for their partying ways as the Austrians so who could resist a typical Irish bar in the centre of one of Austria's most beautiful resorts? Its reported to serve an excellent pint of Guinness and put on some good live music.
Highways is an American themed bar that regularly hold themed evening such as Ibiza and salsa parties - check the website for details. It has live music and DJ's as well as a Cadillac you can sit in for a drink. Its popular with younger drinks but is reported to have a great party atmosphere.
