Kitzbühel | St Anton, Kitzbuhel & Mayrhofen | Why are these 3 Austrian resorts so child friendly

With this winter season now wrapped up, thoughts are turning to where to book for your family ski holiday in winter 17/18. Here are just some of the reason to book at one of the resorts we run in...

This week.....

Kitzbühel

Looking for chic and sophisticated for your next family ski holiday but worried about keeping the kids occupied? Kitzbühel is the place to be! It offers the perfect combo of top class accommodation, eateries & facilities alongside all the indoor and outdoor activities you could ask for to keep young child and teenagers entertained. What more could you ask for? Here's the low-down......

Kitzbühel adds a third 5/5 family friendly resort from skiresort.info to our lineup with Alpine Angels Childcare. Just like St Anton & Mayrhofen it offers oodles of activities to keep your children entertained. Once again, lets starts with skiing as it has so much to offer you as a family. The Reith area is great for children both learning to ski and with a little more experience. The addition of free to use magic carpets and a ski carousel make it exciting and fun to learn along side the tow-rope and T-bar that's also free, the perfect opportunity to try things out but without the commitment! Other free practice lifts in the valley include Rasmusleiten, Mocking, Hausleiten, Pass Thurn & Aschau. The 'Rote-Teufel' skischule also runs a very large childrens area so you will spoilt for choice. If the children need ski lessons to build confidence to ski with the whole family there's a large choice of ski schools available offering child tailored lessons, check them all out at https://www.kitzbuehel.com/en.

To try adding something different to your family skiing resume, have a go at night skiing. It should be on your bucketlist for your next holiday! In Kitzbühel, every Thursday and Friday you can ski under floodlights at the Gaisberg in Kirchberg from 18:30 until 23:00, with the last lifts at 21:30. Make sure you stop by the retreat cabins for some delicious food or a hot chocolate.

Also at the Gaisberg in Kirchberg is the illuminated toboggan run. Its perfect to do as a family as you can get the 4 seater chairlift to the start point at the top so there are no long walks or climbing involved. There are also mountains huts serving tasty treats and drinks throughout the evening.

Keeping to the moonlight/floodlit theme, you can also have a go at cross country skiing in the evenings which starts at the Golfclub Kitzbuehel-Schwarzsee-Reith, offering a 1.4km loop ideal for beginners or a 4.2km loop ideal for those with more experience. It is floodlit from until around 21:30 but be sure to check prior incase of any changes. If cross country skiing doesn't take your fancy, try iceskating by moonlight. The Schwarzsee offers a natural iceskating experience both throughout the day and in the evening making for a very special experience! If the weather isn't great there is also the skating rink at the Mercedes Benz Sports park alongside activities such as climbing, bowling, curling and ice hockey - plenty to keep children entertained. You can see all the activities available at www.sportpark-kitzbuehel.com/en.

A further indoor activity sure to go down well is the Aquarena indoor swimming pool. You will have lots of fun as a family with the waterfall, adventure slide, childrens play area and 'Oase' restaurant & bar. If you happen to be there on the first Sunday of the month its free entry for children too. Aquarena is also the perfect place for time away from the kids too! Why not book an Alpine Angels nanny and take some time for yourself to enjoy the sauna, have a massage or relax in the Turkish steam bath? The perfect time to wind down and relax after all your hard work & have some piste and quiet!

So now you have it, all the information you need to make the hard decision of where to go on your next family ski holiday.....St Anton, Mayrhofen or Kitzbühel? Its a tough one! Rest assured whichever you pick you will not be disappointed and Alpine Angels Childcare will be there to help make your family holiday even more memorable.
